This week I met the sweet Minyon Spencer.
I was excited to find that Minyon is from a town Tracy, CA , which is close to my hometown Brentwood, CA. She loves being out of a small town and being in a city atmosphere. Minyon is a freshman at Cal State Long Beach who is studying Business Finance. She would like to be an accountant who is hired by large corporate companies to manage accounts. She always thought math was easy growing up and figured she would find a career in something that comes naturally to her. Though she is studying finance, recently she decided she might want to switch her major to Nutrition. She loves eating healthy and staying fit so she may want to pursue a dietician career. She said she would love to work with brides-to-be so they can lose weight before their big day.
Regarding art, Minyon enjoys abstract art because she thinks it is interesting to look at and contains many hidden emotions. Her favorite medium is photography, mostly pieces done in black and white because they look classic and she is intrigued with the time in history when black and white films were produced. For fun, Minyon likes to go to the gym or catch a movie with her friends. She cheered in high school and misses it often. Fun fact: Minyon’s favorite animal is a flamingo, she doesn’t know exactly why because she hates birds in general, but she finds flamingos fascinating.
